High Five For Friday

Well it’s Friday again. Time to link up with Lauren from The Lauren Elizabeth today. Honestly I’m struggling to find 5 things, so it might be a high 2 or 3 for Friday.

This has been one of the toughest weeks in a long, LONG time. I was furloughed this week thanks to the government shutdown. I don’t work for the government, but I work in an industry that is directly effected by the government. So this week I became a stay-at-home mom, at least for a little while.

1. Because I was furloughed, I was able to pick the kids up from school at a reasonable hour and we went for a little bike ride around the neighborhood.

2. I handed Jack my phone to hold while I was raising the seat on his bike and the little monkey took a picture of me being a mom. I don’t know why, but I really love this picture.

3. I discovered a new store, Charming Charlie, this week that I really liked. They have very cute and trendy items for very affordable prices. (Which is perfect for me during this time of financial instability.) I picked up my very first statement necklace to wear for job interviews with an amazing little black dress I picked up from Target!

I wish I had a few more exciting things to write about this week, but hopefully next week is much, MUCH better. Sorry for the bummer of a post, but for those few followers I have, please keep with me. I know that this rough time will pass and that I am being pointed in the right path for me. (Whether I see it clearly now or not!) And in the meantime…I finally get to be a stay-at-home mom!

How has your week been??
