Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014!

Wow…this year sure has flown by fast! 2013 has been a year of very high highs, and very low lows.

My husband had a pacemaker installed and one of my best friends was diagnosed with severe form of diabetes and hospitalized several times. My health hasn’t been the greatest and we lost my husband’s mom to cancer.

But this year we discovered my husband’s heart problem and had surgery before anything catastrophic happened. My mom tested negative for cancer after 5 years. We moved into a new home that is just about perfect. The kids transitioned into their new school and are excelling. We switched our daughter over to organic/natural food, like her brother, and have seen her grades improve. I ended a job that I no longer loved and started a job that has potential to take me all the way through retirement. I started my blog and accomplished some of my goals. We’ve been to a few concerts and discovered new favorite bands. I reunited with my biological father and introduced him to my family. We turned a trip for a funeral into happy, mini vacation memories. I was a bridesmaid in one of my best friend’s wedding and watched her marry the love of her life! My daughter and husband were asked to be a part of another best friend’s wedding. And I made the most amazing friend who I can’t believe I have only known for a year because it feels like she and I are fiend soul mates! Her husband swears we were separated at birth!

New Year’s Eve was celebrated with an early dinner at one of our favorite places, Yummmm! Followed by hanging out at home with the kids, lighting sparklers and drinking healthy sparkling cider! It’s funny how your life changes when you are a parent!

Overall 2013 has been one of, if not the best, year of our lives. I can only wait and find out what amazing things are in store for us in 2014!

Happy New Year!!
